First Nation Partners
In 1992, Musselwhite became one of the first mines in Canada to enter into comprehensive agreements with the First Nations hosting and surrounding an operation.
Today, we have formal agreements Cat Lake First Nation, Windigo First Nation Council, Wunnumin Lake First Nation and Shibogama First Nation Council. In addition to revenue sharing, these agreements include targets for employment, training and business development opportunities. The mine has an additional cooperation agreement with Mishkeegogamang First Nation.
